Sleeping Kittens

Is there anything in the world cuter and more innocent than a sleeping kitten?  But where and how do they sleep?   Let's see..

sitting up on a high perch...

passed out on the floor...

on their side on top of the laundry basket...

all together in the crate...

snuggled on top of the crate...

alone wrapped up in a blanket...

in the litterbox in a heart shape...

stretched out in the kitty bed...

even face down hanging over the bed!

So the answer is.. kittens sleep anywhere, everywhere, and every which way!  And this is one of the reasons they're arguably the most adorable, lovable creatures ever.

All Around Appa

Appa is the unofficial leader of the 4 tabbies.  He's the one they usually go to first to play or cuddle with.  He's friendly, playful, and is an all around great kitty!  He'd be especially happy in a multi-kitten household, and we really hope he gets adopted with one of the other tabbies.

Look at Me!

I was sitting on the floor trying to organize magazines when Ozai wandered over, hopped onto my lap, and demanded attention.

Mommy!  Why are you looking at those things when you could be playing with me?

Look!  Aren't I cute?

Can you really resist this face?

Even my profile is adorable!

Precious Momo

Jon and I both have a sweet spot for our little Momo.  He is the first to greet us whenever we wake up in the morning or when we come home.  He runs over, scrunches up his body, points his tail forward, and rubs up against us.  He's also the hardest to photograph because he's always running over to me!  We're already envious of the lucky person who gets to adopt sweet loving Momo.

Weigh-in Update

The kittens had a busy day today, we took them into PAWS to get vaccinated and weighed.  They had a little accident on the way over but Rebecca quickly got them all bathed and prettified.  Appa got to meet some kids who were there for an educational session, and they all got to hold him, aww!

Jon and I were shocked to see that Azula (or Azzy, as we call her) only weighed 2.4 pounds, which is the same weight as Zuko.  The little tabbies weighed in at around 1.5 lbs, so for those of you eager to adopt them unfortunately you'll have to wait at least another 2 weeks, but the good news is that they'll still be with us which means a lot more photo moments!

Here's a comparison of Azzy and Ozai - they're kind of camouflaged in the blanket but isn't it a huge difference?

More sleeping after their road trip

Good night lovelies!

The Lion is Growing into a... Kitten?

Iroh is such a lover.  If we didn't decide on naming them all after Airbender, he would definitely have been named Romeo or Casanova.  He constantly paddles over to sit on my neck/shoulder, and whenever I pet him he immediately purrs and licks my hand.  He'll also mew for attention when I'm playing with other kittens and is super happy when I pick him up and hold him.

What's weird though, is that he doesn't really look lion-y anymore!

He went from this

to this

to this adorable little thing!

I had to check all the kittens to make sure I didn't mix them up - the transformation is so dramatic!  It's like he went on one of those makeover shows and said "help, I need to look more kitten-y!"

Family Portrait, Take 1

Oh kittens, can we please get a photo of all of you together?

Ok, ready?  Everyone look at the camera!

Nooo, don't run off!  How about just 4 of you?

Ahh, stop getting away!  Fine, at least do a paired one.

Thanks babies!  Ok, now you can go eat.

But we're trying this again soon!

Tabby Triplets

The last 3 kittens of this litter are cuteness personified.  I know I constantly say the kittens are snuggly, purry, and adorable, but I can't help it because it's always true!  Granted, I haven't fostered that many kittens but they are ALL wonderful in their own way.  They each have their own special traits that makes them irresistible.

Here's Iroh, who looks like a 1-pound lion

Appa, who flies anywhere and everywhere

and my sweet baby Momo...

Can you tell them apart? :)

Meet Ozai!

The next 4 kittens are soo small.  It's hard to believe they're the same age as Zuko and Azula.  They look around 5 weeks old, and at first all they did was stick together in the crate.  But in only a couple days they've become much more energetic, their furs have become softer and silkier, and they now act really sweet and affectionate with us, filling our place with endless purrs and snuggles.

Here's the first of the 4 teeny tabby boys - he's the easiest to recognize from any angle as he has really bold stripes and is a little more brown than the rest.  Isn't he super adorable??

The Fiery Azula

The only girl of the Benders, Azula definitely lives up to her name.  It's her world and we're all just living in it.  She plops down wherever she wants and kicks the boys out of their beds.  She constantly chases Zuko around to remind him he's not the top kitten around here.  And she's already scratched up Jon's $1600 computer chair, eek!  But he doesn't really mind as she often cuddles on his lap and purrs away.  Plus she has super soft fur and has such pretty coloring.

All hail Princess Azula!
